Hi everybody,
just wondering, if I've got a sound file which needs to be cut into
many small files, would it make a difference if I cut it as wav (uncompressed) and then
convert the cut files into mp3 or I immediately convert it to the desired mp3 and
then cut it. Would the result be the same?

Re: Lame Encoder - please help!
Thanks Doug. You are right. The problem doesn't seem to be related to Lame.

Lame Encoder - please help!
Hi all,
just wondering if its possible to find out the version and path of the Lame encoder
that GW uses from within GW?
Also is if possible that an old Lame encoder will lead to muffled sounds? (Version 3.93.1.0)

Feature Request : One Click Action buttons
Hi everyone,
Just wondering if its possible to add some kind of action buttons in Goldwave. For instance I need to increase the volume by 10% or 20% for for some section of the file. To do this I've got to do 4 clicks. It would be cool to reduce that to one click.

Hello,
since I've become a fan of RSS Feeds I wonder if Chris would consider to offer news about Goldwave (like new version) in RSS Format?

Inserting silence before and after selection
Hello,
I wonder if its possible to automatically add 1 second of silence at the beginning and end of a selection before saving. In other words I select and area I want to save click "save selection" and GW would add 1s of selection before and after and then save.
Thanks

which microphone to use
Hi,
I use GoldWave to record chinese lessons. A problem I have is that you can often hear if the person recording breathes in or out. Any tips to avoid that? Might a special microphone help? At the moment I use the Hitachi HMP 606. Which one do you use?

Hello,
not much going. People seem to use GoldWave more. Anyway on http://www.goldwave.com/mqrelease.php#download there is a mistake, it says that the latest version is zero bytes.

Forum Link
I think it was overdue that GoldWave gets its own forum. But it was hard to find. Maybe a link on the frontpage would help.
