Re: VideoMeld issues & feedback
...And yet one more feature request. Every once in a while, I find myself editing a video that has already been edited together from multiple cameras and segments. In such situations, I often have to split the video at a point when it goes from one segment to another. You can imagine that this is ve...

Re: VideoMeld issues & feedback
Another little bit of feedback - for one of my projects, I had to severely chop up a 40-minute MPG video with audio. When I say severely, I mean that there are now about 50-100 instances of this file in the project. Normally, when I do this kind of thing, I save the audio first as a WAV file so that...

Re: VideoMeld issues & feedback
Also... is there currently an option of linking together two or more segments? When you import a video, its video and audio tracks are linked together. You can unlink them, but I haven't seen any option of linking them (or other segments) together again. If this functionality doesn't currently exist...

Re: VideoMeld issues & feedback
Ok, thanks for the info! Using a separate wav file didn't help, so in the end I just resorted to the usual process of first converting the file to an MP4.

Re: VideoMeld issues & feedback
Hi! I've been struggling all day trying to build a video using an MTS file as the source. It seems that there are massive audio sync problems - even if I literally just use the audio and video from the MTS, and meld it to a file with the same framerate, the voice still ends up out of sync. Before, I...

Re: VideoMeld issues & feedback
Great, looking forward to that! Meanwhile, I've got a small issue to report that should hopefully be easy to confirm and fix, and which occasionally causes significant irritation. When you've got two points very close to each other on the fade graph, VideoMeld seems to have difficulty keeping them s...

Re: VideoMeld issues & feedback
Another small request - currently, if I'm moving the edit marker, I'm given the possibility of snapping it to the start or end of a section. Would it be possible to have the reverse of this functionality, i.e. when you drag a section around, have the possibility of snapping the start or end of it to...

Re: VideoMeld issues & feedback
Hi Chris, It's been over a year since I last posted, but I've continued to use VideoMeld in the meantime. The 64-bit version was a very big step forward, but the memory leaks remained. In the rapid cycle of having to put together videos on a weekly basis, I simply gritted my teeth and learned to wor...

Re: VideoMeld issues & feedback
Great! I'm downloading now, and will try it out today! In regards to the alpha channel, the effect I am trying to achieve is to have varying levels of transparency in the overlay. Basically, I'm using the overlay to place a logo on top of the video. VideoMeld allows me to easily make the background ...

Re: VideoMeld issues & feedback
This particular project was basically a speech, so I used one video file, but cut up into multiple sections. The video was actually running parallel in two separate instances on two tracks, where on one track I would use the entire view, while the other track was zoomed in for a close-up. Wherever I...

Re: VideoMeld issues & feedback
Hi Chris, I did try DirectX software emulation mode, but the result was effectively unworkable, as the video preview ceased to work entirely. In regards to the crashes, I have been monitoring memory usage. What I observe is that the amount of memory used by VideoMeld grows steadily during playback. ...

Re: VideoMeld issues & feedback
Hi, An update on some of the things I mentioned here. First up, when I tried loading files from the SSD drive, the result turned out to be the exact opposite of anticipated - things became much worse. I'm not sure why that would be the case. It might be something to do with the way my machine is con...

Re: VideoMeld issues & feedback
Funny you mention an SSD - I actually have one here, but I use it mainly as the OS drive. It didn't occur to me to try placing the raw video files on there. I'll have to give that a try. In the meantime, I just encountered another of those crashes I reported before. It didn't really affect me, becau...

Re: VideoMeld issues & feedback
I did want to ask about something else, as well. Currently, when I turn on playback, the first few seconds of playback are essentially a total loss: it takes that long for the program to catch up and start playing video synchronously with the sound. Initially, the video just stands still, then it st...

Re: VideoMeld issues & feedback
No, I don't think I can provide any list of steps to reproduce - at least, not at the moment. About the only thing I can identify is that more often than not (but not exclusively), VideoMeld crashes when playback s activated. I will keep track of the issue, and the next time I get a crash, I'll try ...
