Re: opening 4+ files at same time = 4th+ sounds muffled
Seems I have solved the problem, and is caused by "DTS Audio Control", the audio customization app that comes preinstalled on devices that support dts audio ( most hp systems and several others). The app is installed when audio driver is installed. Strange as I have only installed the reco...

Re: opening 4+ files at same time = 4th+ sounds muffled
Hello. OK I know first thing people will tell me it's ridiculous to still be using GoldWave 5.16 haha! I have used it for 15+ years and only use it for cutting starts and ends of files and merging, I know these processes still work perfectly well so I have had no need to change/upgrade from GoldWav...

Re: opening 4+ files at same time = 4th+ sounds muffled
the 4th file plus and files I open after the 4th file sounds muddy/muffled, with the first I've never had that problem. I'm using the current version but I have used GoldWave for a long time so I'm sure I used 5.16 at some point. And to me that's "unexplainable". Muddy or muffled ...

Re: Old GoldWave 5.16 Did it EQ/resample properly?
Are there any issues with the latest version GoldWave creating unwanted audible sound when using and saving after having used Graphic EQ or Parametric Equalizer?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Old GoldWave 5.16 Did it EQ/resample properly?
Apparently, GoldWave used to measure badly in tests reported by src.infinitewave.ca . But, I've used GoldWave for a long time and I never noticed it sounding bad. (Of course, I don't resample every time I use it.) (original 16bit/44.1 and saving as 16bit/44.1), No resampling there. And, you only ge...

Old GoldWave 5.16 Did it EQ/resample properly?
Hi, I've randomly come across some info here from 10 years ago saying that GoldWave didn't do any filtering, and would just do straight resample (this was a discussion about downsampling from 96 to 44.1). It says "v5.50 and later use a high quality polyphase resampling algorithm". So it go...

Re: Size limit when merging?
Thanks I remembered already about there indeed being a WAV size limit, editing all worked fine once original files were merged as 3 separate blocks instead of 1 big block, just took a little extra work to get everything done...

Size limit when merging?
Hi, Trying to merge 39 files of 24/96 which should total around 2 hours 52mins, and their total size as WAV's is about 5.6GB, I merge as 24/96 but when I click on output file on my desktop it says internal error, and if I put the cursor over the WAV it says 2 hours 4mins when in fact it should be ab...

Re: Merging : PCM 24bit signed / Obsolete PCM 24bit signed
OK just answered my own question, no change at all in quality. I merged two 24/96 files, once with "Obsolete PCM signed 24bit" and another with "PCM signed 24bit", converted both merged / output WAV's to FLAC and made an .ffp checksum for both and they're exactly the same. So my ...

Merging : PCM 24bit signed / Obsolete PCM 24bit signed
Hi, Using very old GoldWave 5.16, works just as good for merging and cutting start / end of WAV's. I have some 24/96 WAV files, when I open them in GW at the bottom it says the original files are "Obsolete PCM signed 24bit". Today I merged some of the files and realised afterwards in the m...

Re: won't load .MP2 16bit/48000 properly anymore
Hi, I have lots of ways of exporting and /or converting video audio to WAV, but that isn't my problem. I used to be able to open an MP2 in GoldWave and it would precisely give it's length to 5 decimal places (as I said in my first post this is useful/easy as a lot of audio programmes don't show as m...

won't load .MP2 16bit/48000 properly anymore
Hello, I like to use GoldWave when cutting WAV files to synch to video as it gives time lengths to 5 decimal places (most audio programmes don't show 5 decimal places on the main interface). Up until very recently it would load in MP2 (yes I know that's old), but sometimes editing certain video won'...
