Spectrum Filter - Dynamic Mode - What is it?

I use Goldwave's Spectrum Filter but I don't quite understand what this new feature, "Dynamic Mode" is or how to use it. I try to read the Help file and it says something about "Keyframe" points but whatever I try doesn't take hold, mainly because I don't know what I'm doing! Doe...

Re: Feature request: Spectrum Frequency Analysis

I'd like to revisit this topic. I'd like to relate this topic to channel balance, but specifically EQ. I have brought this up before, but there seem to be even more tools in Goldwave that I was unaware of. Maybe somebody can suggest some that I could use. I have a number of stereo recordings, Classi...

Re: Apply Affects Above of Specified Volume Level?

There is something called Dynamic Equalization which might do what you're looking for. I've never tried anything like that and I'm not sure if you can find a dynamic EQ plug-in that works with GoldWave. Thank you, DougDbug, for this. You put me on the right track! I did a search and came up with so...

Apply Affects Above of Specified Volume Level?

I couldn't find if anybody has asked this question. Is it possible to apply an affect, specifically EQ, only to a passage above a certain volume level? I have a Classical Music recording, actually off youtube, which dates from 1948. The frequency spectrum is a little bright but in the loudest passag...

Re: Left Channel EQ CHANGES VOLUME?

"Pete, I'm finally catching on! Thank you for clarifying! I seem to recall hearing that FM Radio initially started out broadcasting Classical music. And even though stereo wasn't very popular back in the late 50's, you can find stereo jukeboxes being advertised in Billboard Magazine! I'm not he...

Re: Left Channel EQ CHANGES VOLUME?

OK, Jack, I have to clear up my overly general statement about how old my stereo sources are. Sorry about that. I know that FM stereo broadcasts didn't arrive till some time in the 1960's. What I have is some live material that was probably broadcast in mono but exists also (in private hands) in ste...

Re: Left Channel EQ CHANGES VOLUME?

Excellent question, Pete. I have come across "brick walled" waveforms, increased key frequencies, then Maximized the waveform, the away went the brick walled look! Maybe the dominating high frequency(ies) was holding everything else back from being Maximized, why the (majority of the) wav...

Re: Left Channel EQ CHANGES VOLUME?

Thank you, DougDbug for this explanation. Phase shifts seems to be the key though I wonder how my ear perceives such things? From your explanation, is it possible that applying any kind of EQ could result in slight change in the dynamic range in the track? I went back and re-tested the EQ process wi...

Left Channel EQ CHANGES VOLUME?

Here's another single channel editing question. I used the Equalizer in Goldwave to reduce the treble in a single channel. I was surprised to see the wave form's size increase. I would have thought it would be reduced in volume. For example, I have a track length of 7:00 minutes and a left channel, ...

Re: Batch Process Multiple Files with Single Channel Effect

OK, I can answer my own question. It turns out to be rather straightforward. The main issue is that in Batch Processing, there IS an Edit command to select one channel. Then you can follow this with an EQ command and this will apply the same EQ to all files. As I said in my O.P., old reel-to-reel ta...

Batch Process Multiple Files with Single Channel Effect

OK, here's a challenge. I know how to apply the same effect effect to a group of audio files with Goldwave under Batch Processing. However, I'm stumped on how to apply an effect to just one of the stereo channels in Batch Processing. Is there some command to "Select the Right Channel", the...
