Re: Adding captions to the text box
That is an issue with the window scheme. If you change the scheme back to Default under Options | Configure VideoMeld, then the numbers should be visible again. We plan to fix that in the next update.

Re: Batch execution and/or command line interface
VideoMeld does not provide that functionality, Depending on what you want to do, you may be able to use FFmpeg or Handbreak or similar command line tools.

Re: Sustain a note
You could trim the end of the file, select a part of the note to sustain, maybe use the Loop Point playback feature to fine tune the selection to get a clean loop point, then copy and paste that selection many times to extend it. You can then use a Fade Out at the end of the file. Some things may ta...

Re: Record duration
By default GoldWave is that simple. You just click the "Record New" button, which starts recording in a new file for as long as needed (until you press the Stop button). However if you record with the "Record Selection" button, then stopped it after a second, then that would make...

Re: Folks, do beleaguered veterans a favor: READ THE MANUAL
Perhaps the current generation prefers video tutorials and visual examples, which is understandable and something we need to address. There is also a language barrier for non-English users, but hopefully AI translation will help with that. In the near future the next generation will expect to tell t...

Re: Sound window start using cursor
There are three playback buttons: one plays the entire file from the beginning, one plays the selection from the start marker, and one plays from the current playback marker/cursor. Another way to start playback at any point is to click on the time axis in the Sound window. Or you can right-click an...

Re: Control window
If you click the [X} button, that will close the Control window. Actually it moves some of the controls to the main window. The Control window is separate so that you can play the audio and view the visuals even when an effect dialog is shown. You can start playback to hear the unmodified audio to c...

Re: 6.78 - The position of the effects menu is not saved.
Unfortunately the problem is complicated. The Windows toolbar control that manages the toolbar in GoldWave has a several inconsistencies which are not easily solved. When we fix one problem, a new one appears. We'll continue to work on it, but the real solution would be to remove the WIndows toolbar...

Re: What About MPEG 4 (H.265) & WebM (VP9) Codecs?
We'll check into updating the video formats. The Microsoft MPEG 4 (AAC) audio encoder does not support higher bitrates, so VideoMeld is limited by that.

Re: v1.73 Serious Bug With Preview Skipping Track When Trimming
That is most likely caused by a variable bitrate video with no indexing. You may find that things work a bit better after FFmpeg is installed. If not, you'll need to add the original video to a new project, meld that entire video to MP4 or WMV to create an indexed version of the video. You can then ...

Re: v1.73 No Audio Icon & FFmpeg LibAV error
There was a problem with the FFmpeg download. We've updated the link so it should work now. To trim all sections, you'd need to use Edit |Trim Left or Edit |Trim Right . All selected sections are trimmed (which would include linked sections). Click & Drag only trims a single section. Not sure ab...

The problem seems to be related to Themes. Selecting "Windows" for the Theme should avoid the problem until we can provide a fix.

Not seeing that problem so far. Do you have a multi-monitor setup? If you resize the window, then maximize it, does it retain that state?

Re: Waveforms request
There are currently no colour options for the Waveform visual. You can set it to "monochrome line", which uses a solid green colour, but that cannot be changed.
