Re: New "compression" feature?
The peak reducer was the closest feature of Goldwave to what I'm looking for. Unfortunately, it isnt an "exact" science. Waveforms right next to the ones that are intended to be lowered are affected - slightly, but they are affected. At different frequencies this can make a big difference....

New "compression" feature?
I've been working with Goldwave a good long time. I produce hip hop music and I'm always zooming in on the waveforms of kicks and snares, among other things. I've gotten pretty used what music "looks" like. There would be one feature that would be AMAZING to add, so resourceful, and I assu...

its not really limiting
To my understanding, what I was orinigally describing wasnt actually peak limiting. If you look at the before and after waveform of a file that you used a limiter on, the waveform actually gets capped, "chopped off" if you will. It doesnt just lower that individual spike, keeping the origi...

new type of compression - "spike volume reducer"
This would be a very effective type of compression. It would actually be an "individual 'spike' volume" controller. It would work like this: - the user sets an initial threshold - any waveform above the threshold gets lowered by the computer seeing where that individual spike hits the 0 ma...
