save while playing slow as molasses, what happened
Goldwave lets you save a wave file while you're playing it, but it *now* takes "for ever". For example, for saving an under 10 minute mono FLAC file, I did save while it was playing from the beginning. I sat watching it save while listening for about five minutes, and then I could not take...

space to do play selection if paused, pause if playing
Once upon a time, space had this fantastically useful behavior by default: play from beginning of selection if paused, pause if playing I believe there's some good technical reason why it went away, but I don't want to know about it. I would like to know if there's any way to get this behavior back,...

Re: batch process splitting long files
To split every 5 minutes, say, I think it's as simple as
Options -> Cue Points -> Auto Cue -> Spacing (button) -> Interval(s): (type-in drop-down combo box: set to:) 5:00.0
Click OK
Click Split File...
Then fill out prompts as you'd like to get the output files you want.
Does that work?

Goldwave on Parallels - Arrow key problems
I have been trying to transition to running on Parallels/Windows 7 on my Mac. One of the biggest issues was that I could not get control+shift+right-arrow/left-arrow to work. The solution: go to Mac OS System Preferences => Keyboard => Shortcuts => Mission Control => Disable (or change) the "Mo...

Re: Stereo Mix
About that: is there *one* PC maker *anywhere* that *anyone* knows of that includes Stereo Mix (what-u-hear, etc.)? Will you please tell us of *one*?Gord wrote:Given the rate at which the Stereo Mix option is disappearing you should consider yourself fortunate that it works at all.

Re: Noise Reduction
Thank you very much for that. Still, bad stuff happens: I'm just a one-man-band, doing interviews. A one-time-in-a-lifetime interview coincides with some stupid hum that develops on my recording device. Now what? I bet that happens in documentaries, with sometimes archival audio or one-time audio in...

Re: Noise Reduction
Regular noise, hum, whine: eliminating this type of unwanted sound is one of the hardest things I find to do in Goldwave, and I often fail to get anything listenable at all. The artifacts are so annoying, that I often end up feeling that I (and I think my listeners) would prefer the noise -- I think...

Re: request - keyboard zoom around mouse, others like H
The mouse-wheel option is a good alternative, but I'd still like the keyboard option. The idea is to not to have to touch the mouse once I've gotten my exact position. Using the mouse-wheel can very easily lead to the mouse being moved a bit left or right, ruining the effect. Also, mouse wheel is no...

request - keyboard zoom around mouse, others like H
In general, I love the keyboard shortcuts, and I love commands that work with respect to the mouse cursor. That's really powerful. Unfortunately, in Goldwave currently there's just one such command all by its lonely self, and that's the H command, which is doc'd as follows H Starts playback relative...

The problem with recording Skype calls is that Skype uses your sound card to record your voice, usually through the microphone input. If you alter the sound card inputs in GoldWave to record the incoming audio, then Skype won't work properly because it won't be able to record the microphone (outgoi...
