Re: Can I assign a shortcut to an effect preset?
They aren't things I apply to the file as a whole. I do many little edits and each one needs an individual effect on just that small selection. My most common is Fade Out and Fade In after making a dialog deletion to smooth out the transition at the cut point. I might do this dozens or even hundreds...

Can I assign a shortcut to an effect preset?
I often use Volume-Fade In-Default and Volume-Fade Out-Default in my work (I know how to change the default mode to what I want). I have placed the Fade In and Fade Out effects on my quick access toolbar and I know how to right-click them to select a particular preset when using the mouse. But if I ...

New feature suggestion: Multiple Copy/Paste Selections
This is NOT a bug, just an idea for a potential feature addition that would save me time while editing audio files in Goldwave. Summary: Create a way to copy multiple audio selections and associate each one with an identifier. Allow a paste or replace operation to specify which selection should be p...

Re: Can you help diagnose background beeping?
I have been using that Amigo soundcard for years without problems. Could be a new issue with it, but It's more likely a problem with my new laptop. The noise is low, but quite audible, whether there is true recorded signal on the track or not. I do straight voiceover recording and I cannot afford ba...

Re: Can you help diagnose background beeping?
Thanks for your reply, Doug! I do get the feedback even with the mike unplugged, making me think it is not an issue with the microphone's pickup and interference from outside noise. I use the Audio Advantage USB soundcard to get around that issue of the incredibly lousy microphone input jack on the ...

Can you help diagnose background beeping?
This is unlikely to be a GoldWave problem, but this is a great community of knowledgeable people in the art and science of digital recording, so I am hoping you may be able to help. I am recording on a Lenovo W520 laptop using an Audio Advantage Amigo plugged into a USB slot. The laptop has a solid ...

Trusting downloads
Yeah, but that tenth time is a doozy. Having worked in software manufacturing and distribution, I can tell you that just because it's a download from the manufacturer's site is no guarantee of immunity. Employees' computers at software companies get viruses just like anyone else. It is certainly pos...
