Tried with version 6.51 still no luck.
Have to use Audacity which works fine on both Windows versions.

Just updated my Windows 10 installation and suddenly Goldwave can not open mp3 files.
"cannot determine format"
Using Goldwave 6.47 and everything worked fine on Windows 10_1607_3204
Any idea what changed in the new version?

On the GoldWave menu bar choose
Options > File Formats...
then click the "Default Save Format" tab and make your selections there.

Is there any way I can change the default "Save as" setting file format? Now it is set at *.wav PCM 16 bit.
I like to have default settings to MP3 Stereo 192 kbps.
