Re: Video noise reduction
I just tried the noise reduction effect on an audio track. Had no problem. Be sure the audio settings are correct when you meld it to a video file.
Goldwave is a better audio editor. It might make sense to get the audio right with goldwave, save it as a .wav, and use that audio in vidiomeld.

Re: "Ken Burns" Effect
It's easy with the crop/pan/zoom effect, once you get the hang of it. Example: https://youtu.be/rD2mqJvnFPA

You'll see a letterbox correction in the preview window (black space top and bottom). Add crop/pan/zoom ef...

Options->Project Settings->Video Aspect Ratio = 4:3 In the section with the video, add the Aspect Ratio Correction (if not already there) and Crop/Pan/Zoom effects, and play with them ti...

Re: VideoMeld 1.53 - Cannot open audio in file
Try extracting the audio with Goldwave, and saving it as a .wav for use in Videomeld. I have to do this occasionally.

Video Editing Software Recommendation?
Since multiquence no longer works under Windows 7 or Vista... Can anybody recommend a comparable video editor? I downloaded the trial of Cyberlink PowerDirector, but so far I don't like it a bit. It's too cute and appears to handle only one video and one audio track. I'll download the Sony Vega tria...
