Would like to see lower Sample Rates allowed.
I would like to see sample rates allowed down to 40hz, such that when I select a sample rate for a new file, I could select a value as low as 40hz. 40hz sample rate would have a maximum sound frequency of 20hz. This would be great for recording infrasound, which could then be increased into the audi...

Bug in Resample Filter algorithm
When resampling audio there is a bug. I know that before/and or after scaling a filter must be applied to keep from generating unwanted harmonics of the signal. However the filter has a bug. Rather than filtering it exactly to the edge of the band, it cuts into the band. For example, when I resample...

Re: downsampling an oversampled file
Interestingly enough, I'm having the opposite problem. I'm using Goldwave for processing digital data that was input into the computer via the sound card. As such the waveform is basically a squarewave. Unfortunately the lowpass filter that the resample algorithm now uses is playing havok with my pu...

Re: [Tutorial] How to enable ATRAC3 conversion with GoldWave
Junk codec is junk. Since Goldwave DIRECTLY handles encoding of files, once the proper DLL is in place, there is NO REASON it shouldn't work. This is a FAILURE of the highest order of a piece of software! Unless Sony sent a DMCA order to Goldwave Inc, demanding that they have code in the software th...

Nope I kept a backup of the original exe file just in case.DewDude420 wrote:Is this the same exe you hex-edited because of your 5512hz "bug"?
Not pointing fingers; but should that be the case, any and all odd behavior is of your own doing.

... the Spectrum Filter module as a check-box option. A linear amplitude scale should also be included in that module as a check-box option. Yes the dB numbers are linear, but they represent logarithms of multiples of sound-pressure. There are a number of applications that have less to do with the a...

Need fix in batch processing
The "Mix" command under that isn't the same as the "Mix" command in the edit menu. The batch version is missing time offset and "invert" options for "Mix".
This is clearly an oversight on the part of the developers, so I hope they fix this quickly.

How is downsampling done when recording new wave?
When I select something such as 1000 samples per second but the native SR of my sound card is 44100 samples per second, how does it convert 44100SPS to 1000SPS? Does it just drop the intermediate data points? Or does it perform an average of the data points over the duration of the slower SR, and us...

Re: "whatever floats your boat"
If it works for you then I'm glad, but I certainly would NOT recommend that anybody else do this. Arbitrarily replacing sequences of 4 bytes in an executable file could lead to unintended consequences. And, from now on if you post another "bug report" we can rightfully ignore you because ...

Re: I notice a bug in the program
I found another work around. It's actually a sort of "hack". It turns out that the sample rate selected in Goldwave actually uses the text value of the selected dropdown item, not its index number (1, 2, 3, etc). In other words the string value in the dropdown box is DIRECTLY the value the...

Re: Convert stereo to mono
But still it should auto convert it in memory to mono format (or to stereo if going the other way). I'm surprised this isn't already a feature of the program.

Re: I've got an idea.
In a program called Argo Spectrogram http://www.sdradio.eu/weaksignals/argo/index.html you will notice that when you hover your cursor over the spectrogram it shouws the current frequency that your cursor is hovering over. This has an advantage in that you don't just have to approximate the frequenc...

Re: Convert stereo to mono
"Join to Mono" wouldn't be much different than using "Save As". You can use "Save As" to save a stereo file as mono or a mono file as stereo. For splitting files, a default save format can be set up with mono or stereo attributes. Chris Sorry, but that requires it to b...

Goldwave Bug
I have Goldwave 5.67 and my computer is running Windows XP Home Edition (32bit). My computer's on-motherboard sound periodically stops working when using Goldwave. To fix I have to reboot the computer. It usually only happens after having used it for a long time, but no other software that plays sou...

Re: Convert stereo to mono
The BEST way to convert it to mono is to complain to beg the programmers of Goldwave to implement a "Join to Mono" under the edit menu, to automatically average the 2 channels into a single channel, convert the current working data to mono data format using this average. Also a "Split...
