Hiya Billy...welcome. Sure, you can play one wav while recording another....if your sound card supports full duplex, which most do. Make sure you enable this feature via Goldwave Setup, on your start menu. GW is NOT a multitracker, though. To record, say, a guitar solo, I'd set the backing track to ...

If you're referring to WMA files, they might have been created with DRM (digital rights management) turned on. This would prevent you from opening said files in GW.

Sorry, Eddies, but 5.09 does NOT support win98/98se. Chris has mentioned adding support for that OS, maybe in the next update.

When you click "New" to create a file, you are able to choose the length of the new file.

If Judas Priest has commissioned some hard scientific research into these parapsychological phenomena, I apoligize for not knowing it. I thought they were just musicians. The guys from Priest were involved in a court case here in the US where the parents of a kid who'd committed suicide claimed tha...

Welcome, Bill. Run the stereo output from your cassette deck into the "line in" port on your sound card (you'll probably need a stereo-rca-to-1/8" miniplug adapter). Open Goldwave, click on the checkmark button in Controls, go to Volume, & choose "line in" as your input....

In essence they concluded that subliminal messages seem to only have an effect on the persons that try to use them, because they are the only ones that know what the message is. Same holds true for "backward masking".....if the listener can't understand it, how can it affect him? Ask the ...

Re: What video format does Multiquence 'prefer' to work with

Btw, is it normal that outputting to a DivX .avi only compresses the video and not the audio, therefore leaving the file much larger than you would expect for a DivX. (Actually I don't think this is specific to DivX codec, but to codecs in general when outputting to .avi). If you're referring to ou...

lol Nick.... A co-worker recently bought a brand new system, & he insisted on having 98 pre-installed by the manufacturer, rather than XP. They complied, but it seems they were mystified as to why he'd want it. His take is that it's about as mature an OS as you're likely to get nowadays....I cou...

A number of classic users depend on the way the selection markers overlap instead of both being moved. It allows them to exactly select the next adjacent section of audio. Yup, that's me. It comes in very handy when I'm overdubbing vocals or dialogue samples onto backing tracks....makes hitting tho...

The 16000Hz rate is not a standard sampling rate for PCs. Use the Effect | Resample command in GoldWave to resample to 22050Hz or 44100Hz, or select attributes with those rates when saving the Wave file as MP3.

Are you using aspi or spti for reading? XP can use spti, & probably should. Does changing that setting have any effect?
