God knows, I may have experienced the same problem with Realtek when I used it, without appreciating the problem's significance or bothering to trace the source. Wish I could be of more help with this; sorry about that. I don't have anything in my log that could help.

Does Realtek audio have a peak-limiting feature? Does the recorded audio sound distorted?

Try Sonar with the Goldwave demo and see if you get the desired connectivity.

People have been complaining about the lack of reliability of the Reaper VST's, and not just people using GoldWave. I'd say you're out of luck until Cuckos decides to address the issue. (Dude, use paragraphs. I had a really hard time reading your post. )

You might hear more after Goldwave is released in 64-bit. Dunno for certain, though.

Well, so far as I know, Goldwave supports 32-bit recording max, so if you record at a higher bit depth, you'll force Goldwave to downsample to get to 32 bits.
