Re: Cannot Open my MP3 files
I'm not sure if the program is running odd or if Wine is failing me here. My guess is that GoldWave is doing some things that are quite Windows-specific (it is a Windows app after all) and WINE is not able to handle them. GoldWave uses native Windows functions to decode (open) MP3 files so messing ...

Re: How do I install the audio editor into a 64bit system?
GoldWave is a 32-bit application, but it runs just fine on 64-bit versions of Windows.

Re: New version broke GW
My first guess would be that your audio driver doesn't do WASAPI very well. If you wanted to try 5.67 again my suggestions would be:
1. see if there is a newer version of your audio driver, and, if not,
2. try telling GoldWave to use the DirectSound API (instead of WASAPI).

Sure, just use Edit > Paste New.mr5973 wrote:Is there a way that when I copy a selection of a track into a new file (say for example a 2-minute-selection) that the new file is just 2 minutes long (and has no additional void time at the end)?

Re: Recording and autosave to multiple file (long recordings
I thought I was getting Crazy :-) I never heard of a XAC file, could not google much of it until I found this. http://www.goldwave.ca/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=4016 Seems to be a Goldwave proprietary format that is gonna be phased out and replaced by an standardized format. Yes, it is GoldWave...

Re: Recording and autosave to multiple file (long recordings
You're right that GoldWave's "Auto save" recording option is not going to help you, the reason being that the file is only automatically saved when recording for a fixed length of time ("bounded") and the time expires (I.e., the file is full). The manual specifically states that ...

Re: Batch-processing silence to start/end of tracks?
I have 1700 MP3 songs and want to batch process them ALL to have 10 Seconds of Silence added to them [...] I want to add the silence WITHOUT any quality loss what-so-ever. Does GoldWave do this without quality Loss? Assuming that you want the final files to be MP3 files then the answer is "no&...

Re: command line file merger
I have a large number of audio file "pairs" that need each pair to be merged (second appended to first). I'd like to automate this, using the command line, but don't see such an option. Or a "preset" that I can place in the command line. Maybe I'm thinking too hard on this one, ...

Re: Inserting a sound into a track
The feature you want is Edit > Mix... . It mixes the sound on the clipboard into the current audio file. A suggestion: If you will be doing this a lot you could save yourself some time by creating a new audio file with just the chime sound at 20, 30, ... seconds and save that as "justChimes.wav...

Re: 'Invalid floating point operation' when scanning for VST
Based on my *very* limited knowledge of VST plugins I think it's quite possible that a particular plugin could cause the error. I'd suggest moving all of the plugins to a temporary folder and then move them back into the plugins folder one at a time, scanning each time, until you find one that cause...

Re: Increasing volume of a file to match another
After using the Maximize Volume feature on an audio file, I then thought I would just see what happens if I boost the audio file again by 2dB more by just using the 'Change Volume' feature. When listening to the file, it is louder, but I can't discern any clipping anywhere. Is the clipping simply o...

Re: what you hear
That's what I would try, if only for diagnostic purposes. It is sounding more and more like something has failed on your Audigy.rog peek wrote:Thought maybe I would remove sound card and creative software and revert to Realtek, and test again, what do you think?

Re: what you hear
One last thing you could try would be to see if Windows' Sound Recorder applet will record anything from the Microphone or Line In inputs on the Audigy. I sort of doubt that it will, but such a test would at least eliminate the possibility of something in a recent OS update having implications for G...
