From http://goldwave.ca/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2267 : That is not a bug. That is part of the new persistent playback cursor and keyboard navigation design. "That's not a bug, that's a feature!" lol I can live with it if I must, but I'd prefer to have the option of turning it off. Maybe for...

I'm not sure we're talking about the same thing, Kummel....mainly because playback does not resume at the "ghost cursor" position! I use the "old" editing style, & when I stop playback, the "actual" cursor returns to the beginning of the file, as always. Also...

Cursor 'ghost' remains after playback is stopped

I'm running GW 5.22 (thanks for keeping GW compatible with WinME, Chris!), & there's one change that's annoying me... When I start playback, the playback cursor (which now shimmers as it travels across the waveform) scrolls through the file, as always, but when playback is stopped, a white line ...

Eileen, you might also check in the Windows volume controls, specifically the recording volume sliders.....in the Windows volume ctrls (accessed by right-clicking the speaker icon in your system tray), go to Options/Properties, select the "recording" radio button, then see if any possible ...

I'd apply the differing echo params within Cubase, before exporting & recording your MIDI file into Goldwave.

If your USB device driver has a duplex setting, make sure it's set to "full duplex". You should also run Goldwave Setup & make sure the the "Allow playback while recording" box is checked.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks again for your valuable input and help ! Well, you're very welcome, but I didn't actually help you solve anything....then again, re-defining the problem & embracing the work-around is often the only/best way to go with our Commodore 64's, uh, I mean WinME boxes. Chris (author of M...

PNG appears to be in working order Aha! Here's what I'd do (Caution - in non-computer contexts, don't do what I'd do. Usually. ): After setting a restore point :!: , I'd examine/compare all actions for png files to the gif & jpg filetype actions, copy/paste & see if that enables load...

Topic: how to convert a male voice into a female voice

There are DX plugins that do a very adequate job of altering pitch & formants to make a male sound like a female, & vice versa. Changing just the pitch makes the voice sound like it's coming out of a tiny little man; the formants, which give a voice the timbre, or tonal quality as discussed ...

Hi, Cap. I'm a WinME orphan, too, & I'll try to help. You provided some good info in your post re: your setup. The fact that you have those filetypes open in ACDSee by default is making my spider sense tingle a bit, but if it worked for you previously, it should work now. (The WinME default is I...

Welcome, Echo.
Is reverb in GoldWave good?
Why, yes. Yes, it is. Especially as it's included at no charge with GW.

You can use other reverbs via DX plugins, too...you're not limited to the built-in reverb.

PHP is a "language" for web pages to read & write data from/to a database. It's not audio. It's like asking how to convert a Word .doc file to music...it just ain't happening, pal.

Hi Sandy.

"cda" files are not audio....they're pointers to where each track's data resides on an audio cd. You'd want to use Goldwave's CD Reader tool to grab those tracks & save them...I'd save to wav first, then convert the wavs to MP3.
