Insert silence at cue point
I think this would work. Depending on the size of your file and number of cue points this might take longer than doing individually (it's pretty quick to copy a desired length of silence then repeat Next Cue/Paste especially if you set up your toolbar for it), but at least it's not as manual: First ...

Thanks abletec - yes the auto scroll-lock function does help, that will teach me to poke around a little more before whining! When I turned it off, though, the scroll lock key still didn't work as a toggle and it seems it should - or not, maybe it's by design. Basically the scroll lock key doesn't s...

Cursors in 5.22
5.22 is great, I like the silence reduction features. Just a couple of things: Is there a way to turn off the persistent cursor? Also, it seems like on playback the window automatically locks to the cursor position which used to be controllable using the scroll lock key. Now the playback (and possib...

Bitrate Question - I should know this but...
If I'm recording into Goldwave and my source is 128 kbps, 44,100 khz stereo is there any benefit at all to saving the recorded track at a higher bit rate, say 160? Or am I just wasting space. Maybe it helps reduce the "copy of a copy" effect a little bit. My suspicion is that 128 bit might...

I'm not an expert on microphone recording methods, but basically here's how I would do it (some of this requires you to know some GoldWave basics): First, if it's only a few minutes and if possible I would probably just re-record the whole thing but you would know that and apparently don't want to S...

Sorry but I have to ask the stupid question: Are you sure the file is being saved as stereo? Have you played or opened a saved file in any other audio program to be sure it is still a stereo file? I don't know of any way GoldWave changes a file from stereo to mono when opening, but it would be quite...

It may possibly be an issue with Windows Media Player. I Googled the error message you were getting and one user who was having this same error (although not with Goldwave) had some success by following the instructions in this link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/265473/en-us Also I suppose you sh...

Cue points (How hard would it be..)
This has been in the back of my mind for a long time and I'm probably the only one it would help BUT... Let's say I've placed 4 or 5 cue points into a large file (let's say at chapter breaks or something). Then I want to place more cue points over the entire file (in one process) to divide it into 3...
