Watch split file naming
If you can wait until a 30 minute session is done before splitting, then you should be able to use the cue points. After setting the cues and selecting "split file" pay attention to the "Method of naming split files" section. You also have a check box which will allow you to over...

If you goal is to simply convert a stereo wav to a mono, make a copy of the original stereo wav so you don't lose it, then open one of the files in Goldwave. Select File|Save As and drop down the Save as type box to select Wave. Then drop down the Attributes to select (probably) PCM signed 16 bit mo...

Are you trying to split into many songs or just pulling one song out of an album? DougDbug's method is correct for pulling out an individual song, once you have found the begin and end of the song. Either way, cue points is the correct way to accomplish what you are trying to do - can you be more sp...

This should be a fairly simple process, assuming GoldWave can open the VOC files with no problem. Just select File>Batch Processing and on the Convert tab select the Convert Files to This Format box, use the drop-down to select Wave and then the attributes to whatever you want. If all you want is a ...

If you use GoldWave to do the merging, then I believe you will be degrading the final file, as GoldWave does do a re-save through the lame_enc encoder. If you're familiar with DOS at all however Chris showed me a pretty simple little .bat program you can use to perform the join which is very fast an...

True, you can rip with seamless skipping if ripping into wav format which will still be large files. However if you are ripping into mp3 format (smaller files) there will always be a slight pause between each track I think due to information stored in the mp3 and other technical stuff. There are som...

I'm possibly doing the math wrong here, but 80 mb each for 4 tracks is no problem for burning to a CD. A CD will generally hold 700 mb of data and wav files do tend to be big (at least when compared to MP3). You're only talking about 320 mb of data. I would just say that you are doing everything cor...

Me too, me too! I had posted a request for this function also a long time ago, and if I remember correctly, user Irinview tacked on a reply that he/she had hoped Goldwave could do this as well. Maybe you could consider it as a feature request and toss it into the pile for consideration (Is three vot...

As an update to this post, I just installed Media Player 11 and tried the same method - remote desktop in while playing with Media Player and recording with Goldwave. For whatever reason (hopefully a fix to WMP 11), the playback did not halt and the recording continued to the end so with any luck th...

Real minor quibble fix to 5.16
This is really minor, but you might want to add it to your list for next time. I have the "Split Files" command as a toolbar button, and I notice that it is enabled on the toolbar even when no sound window is open. I suspect it should be disabled at that point. Maybe other buttons are also...

Folders won't stay in order
Hi Tonedeaf: Ok, here's the only way I could manage to duplicate what's happening to you. I opened my music folder using Windows, put it in order by size (just to jumble it) then selected Tools -> Folder Options -> View and clicked the "Apply to All Folders" button. Then all my folders whe...
