Have you experimented with the declicker in GoldWave?

Re: Effect Mode Expander vs Compressor
Are you asking about GoldWave effects specifically, or are you asking about the differences between compression and expansion generally?
I can tell you what I've done with compression, limiting, and expansion with GoldWave, but I don't know if that's what you're interested in.

Re: Problem Using 24-bit Recordings with Audio DiffMaker
Folks, if you raise an issue involving GoldWave, make some effort to resolve it quickly, especially if people take the trouble to respond with advice. Don't just tantalize and wander off. It makes you look like a troll.

Re: Problem Using 24-bit Recordings with Audio DiffMaker
OK, so did you try recording 24-bit to GoldWave and loading the file directly into Audio DiffMaker? There must be a freeware or demo app you can use to record 24-bit samples if you want to test something against GoldWave. You don't sound terribly eager to solve this problem, I must say.

Re: Problem Using 24-bit Recordings with Audio DiffMaker
I wouldn't automatically assume GoldWave is the source of your problems. It could be that some other app you're using is corrupting your files during playback. There are a number of things you could try: 1) Don't play your stuff on Foobar, etc. after recording it in GoldWave. Load it directly into A...

I don't think there's a timer function in GoldWave.

VST Plug-In Recommendations.
Do people have any favorite 32-bit VST plugs that they'd recommend for use with GoldWave? I have a couple of equalizers that I use occasionally; I'm just wondering what other VST plugs people use, if any.

Re: merging 48Hz and 44.1 Hz
OK, when I clicked on one of those links, it installed something on my browser and screwed it up, so I'm not going to try that again. But it sounds like you have digital artifacting resulting from a conversion problem. I'd say start your project over again, if possible. If you can't do that, see if ...

Re: Noise Reduction
I just love it when people post questions and then don't come back. 5 weeks and counting, with several paragraphs' worth of feedback apparently gone to waste. Braders probably got his answer on another forum.

Re: merging 48Hz and 44.1 Hz
It might (though I doubt it), but you can only confirm this with a listen. Listen for transition artifacts at the points where the files were joined.

Re: merging 48Hz and 44.1 Hz
Have you listened to the downsampled file? If you don't hear any problems, then you don't have anything to worry about.

I guess you use the Channel Mixer to do the final channel separation adjustments.

Re: Congratulations on 20 years of GoldWave, Chris!
GoldWave should get more exposure than it does. I talk it up whenever I can. I used Sound Forge for a while and didn't like it as much as GoldWave. To me, the equalization features alone are worth the price of admission.

Re: Feature Request: Stereo Widening
Simple stereoizing trick, using Audacity:
Import identical mono files into left and right channels.
Pan hard left for left channel, hard right for right channel.
Shift either left or right track up to 30 milliseconds.
Save as stereo file.

I'd try reinstalling GoldWave.
