Re: Order of effects
Thanks, both of you. I use noise reduction under 2 conditions. 1. If it is a live recording I have made, I want to reduce the tape hiss and any hums. I use default for this. 2. If I've recorded off of vinyl, I want to remove the pops and ticks. I plan to use the specific pops and ticks filter. So, ...

Echo - Just an Observation
Echo - Just an Observation I sometime add echo to one of the two Mono tracks, it makes it a bit more pleasant to listen to with stereo headphones, adding a bit of "depth", you might call it. I'm not talking a LOT of echo, just gentle Echo, two Echos at the most, very short duration. But, w...

Re: goldwave windows are missing "minimize" feature
this bug is still remaining and it XXXX me up  really. very boring to not be able minimize the application during a simple task (liek cue spiting file) and go back to windows desktop and open app/do something else during the work! seriously, what is the problem to not offer MINIMIZE icon butt...

... so I zoom-in where the noise is, and select it, then hit the "Delete" key. Then, even I forget where the noise was!! Not like anyone will miss a some milliseconds of sound. :) Jack That is if they don't mind things like reverb mistiming or phase issues. Yours is an extremely ba...

Re: is there a way to find clipping point/cue?
is there a way to find clipping in my audio? No... Maybe... FYI - Audacity can do it (or at least it will show potential clipping). I'm a long-time GoldWave user, but sometimes I use Audacity. I'll give you a couple of scenarios - When I digitize LPs I run Maximize Volume to check the peaks (before...

Re: Confusion with Loudness Effect
I’ve been using the Match volume effect in Goldwave for years, treating various parts of the wav file to get the volume I want, usually shooting for about -16.5 db. Now V6.30 uses the Loudness effect instead, whether you select Match Volume or Loudness. Not much info on its use in the Help files, a...

Re: GOLDWAVE BEGINNER HERE!
Hello, I'm Gerald, just recently bought Goldwave to replace Adobe Audition because of noise issues I had whenever I eq'd a wav file. I would like to find good tutorials to learn how to use Goldwave effectively with when cleaning up, editing, mastering, and adding effects to my wav files. Any seriou...

Re: how to eliminate the music of an audio file
There probably isn't a way to completely remove the music unless you have an exact copy of the music file that was mixed with the voices. If the music is stereo, try the presets for the Reduce Vocals and Stereo Center effects. Those may be able to remove some of the music. I agree. If there is an e...

Re: the best way to make all my songs louder
It's okay, Sara, my English isn't great! :) Dropdown Menu -> Dynamics -> Effects -> Amplify Light I'm amazed how much applause (my web site) I gain from using it. I feel it's one of Chris's (author) home-run creations! It uncovers sounds I never heard before (from CD)! Most people just use compressi...

Re: the best way to make all my songs louder
I you look at Giles Martin's remixing of Sgt. Pepper album, you'll generally see a dense waveform that doe not even fill the envelope of an audio editor, yet, the recordings are LOUDER. When Maximizing a waveform doesn't do much, I turns to Amplify Light, that loudens, but does not make it look obv...
