Re: Loud Music but Weak Vocals

1959 - Cozy Cole - (Top 40 hit) "Turvy II" (rare) 45 promo single - Mono/Stereo A/B sides! Maybe Don would even remember that song! License it from a person right here in NJ, and you get the Mono version, but stereo on another CD. This is what happened when many pass, someone claims to hol...

Re: Loud Music but Weak Vocals

You wrote: I did trying playing Strawberry Fields Forever backwards in Goldwave....that was actually the first thing I ever tried. Ha! Sounds like me with The First Edition - Just Dropped In..., the intro (to find a nice acoustic guitar). I've always wondered why, with mono, why radio stations didn'...

Re: Loud Music but Weak Vocals

DD when I saw Mobile Fidelity of Sinatra's Nice 'n' Easy album on CD - THAT was a great choice . Even a bootleg CD of its material sounds amazing! If (early) computers were available for digital audio, even with little storage space, what software was available. I recall my first day of encoding my ...

Re: Loud Music but Weak Vocals

DD, I agree about computers not being of aid in early CDs - they were just too slow! Some early CDs sounded fine, some low volume, some needed major sound surgery. Wish I knew someone who oversaw every aspect of creating a CD (I still want to know how stereo is encoded on CD!). But, maybe when tran...

Re: Loud Music but Weak Vocals

Goldwave (GW) continues to amaze me with what it can do. Me too... The more I use GoldWave, the more I appreciate what Chris has accomplished. A lot of the music that was popular for a short time, once upon a time, simply goes away and is forgotten forever. Some may still exist, but is not easy to ...

Re: pulsing beep noise while recording an playback

I have installed and registered GoldWave 5.69. When I record and playback to recording, I hear a continous beeping noise. I need to know how to stop this from happening. Please assist! What are your recording from, a microphone, or external source, like a record player? In other words, more informa...

Re: Sound activated play (instead of sound activated record.

Jack, Ha! When I posted my question in the Windows forum, I said that I need a solution "assuming my dogs don't speak English." Regarding my recorded reprimand reactivating the device and creating an endless loop: Goldwave's sound-activated recorder can be set to require both a minimum so...

Re: Sound activated play (instead of sound activated record.

JackA, I think the Windows voice command works only with spoken words that can be interpreted, as opposed to reacting to a "mere" sound (like a dog bark). But you've given me the idea of posting my question in a Windows forum. Thanks! (And if anyone else here can think of something, I'd a...

Re: Sound activated play (instead of sound activated record.

I've been able to configure GoldWave to record activity when sound is detected. Now, what I'm looking for is the ability to have my computer PLAY a pre-recorded sound when it sound is detected. GoldWave can't do that, but does anyone know of a Windows app that does this? My situation is this: I've ...

Loud Music but Weak Vocals

Goldwave (GW) continues to amaze me with what it can do. I will later post a before and after example. My belief, if a song has only 10% vocals, but 90% music, drastic measures are needed to better balance the two. The Reduce Peaks feature, under Expansion/Compression, is ideally suited. Audiophiles...

Re: How do you record voice mail to laptop?

Hey guys, I would like to apologize. I accidentially deleted the graphics that I originally posted to this thread. But basically, you can copy a voice mail to your laptop if you have a smart phone. Just insert one end of a audio cable to the headphone jack of your smart phone, and the other end to ...

Re: Make a song louder

Hi, I have a problem: I am making a compilation and there is one song which is noticably more quiet (that means the volume is lower) than all the others. How can I make this one song louder with Goldwave? Thanks A.) You can use - Volume - Maximize - Full Dynamic and see if that works. If you need m...

Re: NR Revisited

Pop/Tick reduction should not warp the sound, and I have never seen such an anomaly when I have processed pop/ticks separately for each channel, manually setting the cursors at the zero-crossings This phenomena (removing "hiss" from one stereo channel), was with a very early version of Go...
