if i understand it correctly, this is a side effect of the FFT process which is used by the Noise Reduction filter. you may want to try reducing the scaling number (perhaps set to between 50-70) and increase the FFT size to see if you can find a nice medium between noise reduction and clarity. a low...

correct me if i'm wrong, but doesn't the GoldWave Setup app in the start menu allow you to save and load your GoldWave settings?

this was alot easier for me to do than to navigate the registry.

DD420,

there's no need to apologize. i figured as much, but thought that it couldn't hurt to ask.

thank you for the in-depth explaination! :) the description of the differences between frequency and time domain processing makes a lot of sense.

cheers,

Filtering FFT artifacts

Is there any way to filter out FFT artifacts? With certain settings, any of the effects which use FFT can generate noticeable artifacts. While I know this is unavoidable in some cases, I am wondering if any additional filtering can be done to reduce them. If I'm not mistaken, FFT sizes are generally...

thanks for the reply doug. the conditions part of the expression is not an issue. i just can't figure out to get a sound to play from the beginning each time the conditions are met. for example, let's say i open an empty file that is 20 seconds long - this will be the destination for the evaluator. ...

looping a sound with expression eval?

sorry for the double-post, but i tacked this on the end of another topic and am afraid it may have gotten lost in the mix. is there anyway to use to the expression evaulator to loop a wave file. for example i want to trigger a sound when certain conditions are met in the evaluator. i cannot figure o...

digging up an old topic - is there anyway to use to the expression evaulator to loop a wave file. for example i want to trigger a sound when certain conditions are met in the evaluator. i cannot figure out how to get the sound to play from the beginning more than once. is this even possible? thanks!
