Tip: converting logfile back to ANSI
Anyone else belatedly upgrading GW from versions that used ANSI for the logfile, finding now it is changed to UTF-16, may find this useful for converting back: win_iconv -f utf-16 -t iso-8859-1 <!gwlog.txt >temp\ansi!gwlog.txt .exe here: https://code.google.com/p/win-iconv/downloads/list .

Re: Protecting silent track from Autotrim
It seems a bit strange that you want to batch process files containing complete silence. I can only guess that they are "spacer" files They are. that File Merger will "glue together" with other files later on. The destination platform will glue them together later on, but it is ...

Re: URGENT! Latest version NOT suffering Set Before Finish b
FTR, this bug is absent from the later V5.70: http://img545.imageshack.us/img545/9335/5c3g.png though when it was fixed I don't know since it is missing from the changelog . EDIT: But this fix is present in the WhatsNew.txt file: v5.68 ----- [...] Fixed bugs: [...] Batch Processing "before fini...

Protecting silent track from Autotrim
Is there any trick to automatically protect entirely silent tracks from Autotrim? I have large batches of tracks some of which contain signal with 1-2s of start and end silence, and others which are entirely silent, of varying duration from 10s upward. I have a batch process using Autotrim to trim t...

Re: Restore settings from backup
That would work on the PC itself, but as far as I can see does not work on a backup of the old PC.Gord wrote: use the "Backup Settings..."
In my case the old PC itself is defunct.
Thanks anyway for the thought.

Restore settings from backup
What's the official method of copying the GW settings from a backup of one PC to a new PC? EDIT: I did this by 1) mounting the backup as a drive 2) using the Windows Registry Recovery program to convert C:\Documents and Settings\Chris\ntuser.dat to a .reg 3) Using TextPad to remove all but the heade...

Re: Command key for comment edit?
Thanks Chris. Trying on V5.69. Select (or tab, up/down arrow to) the list item, I have to select with the mouse. I can find no sequence of TAB and Up Arrow / Down Arrow that will reach a list item. TAB will reach the tab strip, where Left Arrow will select Process http://img5.imageshack.us/img5/3695...
