Re: Suggestion for "Maximise Volume"

Would it be possible, in some future release, to provide a checkbox in the pop-up for "Maximise Volume" called "PROCESS EACH CHANNEL SEPARATELY". You can do this already... simply select one channel, use Maximize, then select the other, and repeat the process. Keep in mind that ...

Thanks... I've been using GoldWave for almost 10 years now, and never knew the Spectrum Filter existed!

Update: Here is a link to a discussion of this subject. It links to two different programs that should be able to handle de-emphasis. http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=38312&hl= I've just downloaded both, and will try them as soon as possible. Another update: The WaveEmph p...

Several years ago, I was looking to do this also. I found info on the internet. I wish I could remember where, but I don't! I did implement a preset in GW that accomplishes this... or at least, the results sound correct to me. I did not use GW's equalizers, however. I used a plug in called Sonic Fou...

Re: two new bugs

1. The play button ignores the current selection. Be sure to check how the buttons are configured... Press F11 or click the "control properties" button or menu item, and see how the play buttons are configured. Mine has the green button set to "selection" and it works correctly....

I agree -- it creates quite an annoyance, and should be optional.

Blending the channels together below a certain frequency can work miracles in some cases, and it might on your recording... it looks like the warp noise might be out of phase in the two channels, which is often the case. When blended together, the noise present in each channel will cancel the other ...

Re: Cut and Paste - Playback 'clicks' when crossing the spli

Is there anything I can do for completely 'clean' playback across splice points. What I do is zoom in on the edit point until I can see each sample clearly. I then select from about two samples before the edit to about two after, and use the interpolate effect in GoldWave. You might find that you n...

In checking, I found that .m4a files were associated with Real Player. Changing them to iTunes or QuickTime mode no difference. I also re-installed QuickTime, and it's still the same.

It's really no big deal, but I guess this will have to remain a mystery.

Just tried this... It shows .mov files only -- not .m4a or .mp4.

If you have GoldWave v5.20 or the QTFile plug-in installed, M4A files are listed in the Open window (provided QuickTime is installed). That's not happening here... I have GW 5.20, the latest QTFile plug-in, and QuickTime installed, and still I don't see .m4a files in the Open window unless I choose...

Speaking of the m4a format, is there a way to add it to GoldWave's list of supported formats, so that *.m4a files will appear in open/save dialogs when "supported files" is chosen?

I have Diamond Cut, and tried its de-clipper tool on your file. It didn't do anything. From examining the wave form, it doesn't look like clipping distortion to me. The jagged peaks probably resulted from a reception problem, but they remind me of the type of impluse noises you get from a crackling ...

Not all sound card drivers offer this capability. Mine doesn't, and it sounds like yours doesn't either.

You might take a look at Total Recorder for this purpose. This is what I use.

I get the same thing here... never noticed that before. It seems to work correctly if you choose the file type first, then enter the file name.
