For that you need a multiband compressor/limiter, and Goldwave has not that inside. AudioCleanic2005Deluxe has a three-band compressor/limiter, but three are not enough for such an effect. I think they have used a 7 or more bands compressor-limiter, or maybe a math formula with a Fournier Transform ...

I've burnt cd's from wav files with any software, except the Windows Media Player who only burns from mp3 & wma. The versions 7, 9 & 10 have always refused me to do it: once the list to burn created and the burn button clicked, Wav files are marked " ! ". However, it is possible to...

The temporary files forgotten by a software is not specific to Goldwave. It is useful to sweep the %temp% folder on a regular basis, if not made it can also lead to system crashes.

My method: I record at 44100 Hz, then I change the playback rate at 103525 Hz, or 105840 or 119070, depending of the speed of the record (even electrical recordings have not forcefully the standard speed : I have some at 80 or 72 rpm). Then I can remove clicks with much more edition precision for wh...

In a fm broadcast, the sent signal is cut usually at 15kHz, and i've noticed that this cut is vertical on our public radio. Then you can filter with a 30-15000 Hz bandpass filter if you can notice some noise. To remove frequencies under 30 or 40 Hz at the same time may help to edit properly as the z...

For beat maintain purposes, you can copy/paste a little bit more than necessary, and select the unwanted part. Listen to the unselected section and adjust progressively until the beat continuity sounds perfect. Also "EDIT > Marker > Snap to zero cross" helps to a precise edit, something I ...

When you have selected the portion you want to loop, you can use the same key than in a text treatment to gain time : CTRL+C. Once the marker placed were you want to paste, you can then use CTRL+V, and paste several times. E.G. from a 50 millisecond file, I've made a 30 seconds loop with only a key ...

Streaming Audio: you can apply a low pass filter at 16 kHz, as probably nothing else than artifacts will be found over the 16 kHz range. For streaming audio and fm-broadcast, in addition I have created this "filter" to reshape the wave and expand the envelope, but prudence with that, it do...

I have used Windows Media Player to burn cds For my part, I prefer use iTunes.exe to burn CD's, as the Windows Media Player doesn't burn CD's from *.WAV files, only from compressed formats. Compressed files means quality losses. The compressed files are on my computer for listening, and they can be...

Just a tip for very used stereo records. As the usure noise I had on the 45 rpm had a lot of stereo components, I split the wav in a Middle & Side Matrix: volume > -6 dB ; Channel Mix > Left+right & Left -Right; I measured the average level of the Side (L-R), then compressed it, and matched ...

In addition to the "snap to zero-crossing" option, when there is a too sudden change, I reshape the volume to make correspond the one before and after the cut, I use reverb to mask the change (maybe not possible with nature, and with much prudence on music), taking care that all that canno...

Hello. In 1989, not all the CD manufacturer did use the convenient ink whom solvent won't attack the varnish. Its like that I've lost my Big Bill Broonzy CD. It generalized only in the 1990's. When the varnish is attacked, then the (often) alumine signal layer rusts. Only the CD sent to space by the...
