Example of adding vocal and mixing treble and bass

Mixing is a very important part of song editing. Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star provides a good example of mixing treble, bass, and vocal using GoldWave as a tool. Please listen to Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star and click Wave Basic for an example.

Resampling and aliasing

The manual mention antialiasing filter may help. It says Anti-aliasing filters remove all tones that cannot be sampled correctly. They prevent high pitched tones from being aliased to low pitch. Many sound cards include anti-aliasing filters in hardware. First, you need to buy expensive sound card i...

Computer Music and Song Creating Projects

GoldWave is a sound editing tool for audio signals. As such, attention has been focused on song or speech editing or audio signal processing. Little has been said about its capability on song creating, song writing or audio signal generation. The examples given in GoldWave manual contain very simple ...

Resampling and aliasing

If you resampling from 48K to 44.1K, then anything above 22.05K will be aliased (to a lower frequency below 22.05K see below on how to calculate). This is the famous theorem due to Nyquist called Nyquist criterion. I don't know which frequency your birds sing. Let's say it is @23K. Then your minimum...

Table correction

Thanks, Chris!
There is an error in the Code formatting: The first entry in FS should be 16 instead of 1 since the original file size is 16M bytes.

How to cut file size by sampling freq, bit rate, stereo/mono

In why are my files so big? the author posted a very interesting and challenging question. Subseuently piano nick posted a very practical answer 1. Length of file - time for file to play (assuming music). For wave files, it is approximately 11.0 MB per minute of song. 2. Type of file: Wave files are...

Using GoldWave Expression Evaluator Can be Fun...

Another example of using GoldWave expression evaluator can be found at Listen to "Red River Valley" . There I created a piece of computer music starting from scratch using only a mathematical equation and GoldWave 4.12 just like what I did in Listening to "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star...

Listen to Red River Valley

It is nice to hear midi pro, but we need someone (preferably a Male/Female team) who can sing for us here. Fortunately, we have the last two pieces which I call wave pro. The artists are Twins (two Females) and Kim Novak & Jim Reeder respectively(Female/Male). They are readily available from the...

Listening to "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star"

It is nice to hear midi pro, but we need someone who can sing for us here. Fortunately, we have the last piece which I call wave pro. The artists are Noelle & John. It is readily available from the Internet but I decided to include it for your listening pleasure. The new menu now has 6 choices: ...

Why are my files so big?

conversion software for "wave to midi" is pathetic at best and laughable at the worst. It's a far-off dream, however one that I wish would come true. The analogy has been given several times - it's like un-baking a cake and separating all the ingredients into their original form. Notice I...

why are my files so big?

An 11 meg wave file (again assuming music) would be about one minute long. A one meg file almost seems as though there is something wrong or it is very short If you create a music file in midi format, your 11 meg wave file will become 11k instead. No compression is required. :D Please see my posts,...

If you can not hear any music...

First, be patient. These are big files: 1.4 M bytes for each wave file. Allow your system suffuicient time to load. It may take you as long as 5 minutes depending on your Internet connection. After you click the link if you have slow internet connection: grab a cup of coffee, or find your favorite h...

Listen to "Red River Valley"

A basic midi version of the song is implemented and posted to the same site. For comparison, a professional midi version, downloaded from Internet, is also included for your listening pleasure. The new menu now has 5 choices: Treble, Bass, Combine, Midi Basic, and Midi Pro. All except the last song ...
