I am trying some mastering with GW with a little success, does any-some-buddy have any ideas for me

Mastering refers to the final tweaking of your songs prior to putting to cd's.
Doug is correct about "mixing" various tracks - Goldwave won't do the job, but Multiquence will.
But for things like equalization, compression, etc. Goldwave is up to it.
