Need some help

Post by rtenbush »

Just Start using GW to record LP's. Souds great during the recording but in play back it is very hollow sounding (hugh echo sound on voice). If you listen to right or left channel only sounds great but move balance back to center and get the echo sound again.

Product looks great and any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Recording LP's

Post by Stiiv »

You didn't mention how your turntable is connected to your computer, but there should be some kind of amp in between....home stereo output should be fine. Because of the way LP's (and 45's) were mastered, you must add some bass response to avoid tinny-sounding recordings. Check your levels (watch for clipping), & make sure you're using Line-in & not Microphone for input. Use the Pop/Click filter if necessary to clean up the sound. Record to wav format, not directly to mp3 (you can convert later). Good luck.
