Cuepoint saving with sound file...

Post by BCI24 »

Does anyone know what would be the most space-efficient file format I should use to save a waveform with the "cue-points" saved along with the sound-file? (and have them again-available upon re-open, and playback)... I have saved cue-points successfully as WAV 8-bit mono, but it appears 5X larger than MP3.

The source content is recorded-voice in MP3 so I dont really need a "high-end" format / degredation is okay.

Thanks much!

PS -- I think I'd like to use a form of Vorbis ogg file if possible, yet my research so far hasnt clearly indicated if this is possible for ogg, or what format of ogg (or ogg-players) might support such.

In the next update (v5.07) you'll be able to export the cue points to a separate .cue file, so you'll be able to save them regardless of the format you use.

To make a voice file small, try resampling (Effect | Resample) to 8000Hz, then save as Wave with 8 bit, mono attributes. That will create a 64kbps file.
