If I copy a portion of a file to the clipboard for noise reduction, is it possible to use that file to batch process noise reduction?

Yes.

Goldwave -> Noise Reduction -> Clipboard Noise Print.

And please, don't use us as a manual/help replacement. You could of found that out if you had just looked.

But I wasn't sure it would work in a batch -- that it would hold the copy in memory through the opening and closing and saving of various batch files.

Well, it's the clipboard...Goldwave holds it's contents till you close it out, unless you're using windows clipboard in which case, it's there till it gets replaced.

Yes this works.

But I did find that I needed to copy the background noise to the clipboard in the same instance of Goldwave.

(The first time I tried it I had already set up my batch process and then realized "oh, I need the noise to be on the clipboard" and opened another instance of GW and copied to clipboard..Fail! Gave errors and did not complete)

In recent versions of GoldWave you can use the "Add Edit" button, select "Copy", then select the "Copy from the following file" option to copy any file into the clipboard during Batch Processing.

Do I need the Beta version of Goldwave for this work?

I'm curious, what type of recordings are you working with? I find noise profiles change rapidly unless you are in a controlled environment, and even then sometimes it can still change from moment to moment... are you taking out line noise from equipment?
