Hi everybody,
I'm an old user of GoldWave, that recently registered the lastest version. I use it for the
analysis of some audio synthesis I'm making for a client's product.
I've discovered the following small (I suppose) bug in Goldwave v5.55:
1) Generate a .snd (RAW s16/BE/stereo) from my software
2) Open it in GoldWave, use it, play it...
3) Close it in GoldWave (and keep GoldWave open).
4) Try to generate again the same file... ->> ERROR: GoldWave seems to keep file open even if we told him to close...
5) Close GoldWave completely
6) Try again.... it can write to the file now...
Thanks in advance,
Miguel Angel Ajo

FYI - You can contact Chris (GoldWave's developer) directly via the Web Contact Form.

I've seen this happen from time to time also, but not consistently. I've never been able to pin down one exact sequence of actions that will cause it to happen every time.

Re: Small fileopen bug found.
If you use the Edit | Copy or Edit | Cut command to put part of a file in the clipboard, GoldWave has to keep the file opened internally for paste operations later, even if you've closed the file. Creating a new blank file and copying it to the clipboard will close the file.
There are a couple of other possibilities that are being looked at as well (such as system decoders).
