Distortion after saving

Hi guys,
I have this problem again even after re-installing windows (and updating).
Windows Vista & Goldwave 5.67.
If I close the file after altering by using the "X", when I reload it's low left & distorted right.
If I save/file as, it's ok, unless I batch save using say 4 files and the problem's the same.
I did notice one thing which helps identify there's a problem - when saving the file (320Kbps) it saves very fast - normally about twice normal speed.
Any sugestions welcome. I do use Goldwave (and recommend) almost daily.
