Using Cue file from other media types

Post by Coriolanus »

A friend send me an opera. The file format is .flac and it comes with CUE file.

How do i get the files into Goldwave as .WAV along with the CUE file so I can burn CD's of the opera? :?: :?:

After you open the FLAC file you could try this:

- from the GoldWave menu, choose Edit > Cue Point > Edit Cue Points...

- in the Cue Points dialog, click the "Imports list from CD cue file" button (picture of a file folder with a little green arrow) and import the CUE file

- save the file as WAV and carry on from there

Thanks that worked --

Next question - how do I burn this opera CD -=I assume I don't do split - how do I burn it as a single image?

I've used ImgBurn to create audio CDs; look here for instructions.

I got IMGBURN and read the instructions.

However, it seems to me I can split the file as the first file always is track 1 when I burn with Nero - Also I never allow pauses between tracks. Won't that work as well?

Yes, now that I think about it (I haven't burned an audio CD in a while), I think you'll want to:

- use GoldWave's "Split File..." feature (in the Cue Points dialog) to split the opera into separate tracks ("movements"?) and save those files in a temporary folder. To avoid pauses between tracks when you burn the CD, make sure that "Use CD compatible wave format and alignment" is selected,

- use ImgBurn to create a *new* CUE file for the tracks in your new folder, then

- burn your CD using the CUE file that ImgBurn created.

If you are trying to create a gapless CD with tracks, this link may help.
