V6.31 freezes when invoked from Windows File Explorer

Postby MattDT » Sun Apr 08, 2018 12:33 am

Downloaded/installed/activated v6.31 to process some recorded voice files for a presentation.
These were a series of .m4a files recorded from Windows Voice Recorder.
Using normal Windows practice I set up Goldwave as an available program for opening m4a files, then proceeded to open, trim and save the audio files in sequence.
Opening and saving the first file from Windows (right click on file in Windows File explorer>open with>Goldwave, process in Golwave, save as MP3 in same folder) worked fine.
Thereafter, opening subsequent M4A files from the same folder in the same way caused Goldwave to freeze while showing a greyed out format converter dialog box (which is normally only briefly visible). Terminating the available Goldwave application in Task Manager caused the completed import of the new file to come to life immediately. So, annoying rather than terminal.
Experimentation found that opening these files using the GW menu Open icon worked fine, so I'm doing that from here on.

Thanks for reporting that. I'll check into it.
