Cue points list edition: line break?

Hello.

Old user of Goldwave, which I love (current version: 6.36), I would like to know if it would be possible to improve the edition of the "cue points lists".

Indeed, when the name of a cue point is changed, it would be desirable that the validation (OK button) causes the selection of the next point name, to avoid having to do it manually.

Is it possible?

Thank you for your attention to this message. And thanks for any answer.

Automatically selecting the next cue could cause some confusion. Typically users expect the same cue point they are editing to be selected. You can press Alt+C to go back to the list and down arrow to select the next cue using the keyboard.

Or while in the list you can use Alt+E to edit the cue point, then OK, then use the down arrow the select the next one.

Okay. Thanks for your advice.

I will try, but it seems to me it's unfortunate that the option doesn't exist (a check mark to add or remove, for example): you speak about the users, I am a part of them, and of long date! :D (NB: I enjoy this kind of operation in the audio file taggers.) — And it's always better when operational choices are possible, don't you think?

But that doesn't detract from the quality of your software, be sure!

Sorry to come back to you. I don't understand “ALT + C”. And I didn't find anything about it in the help. Could you explain to me, please?

Alt+C is the shortcut key for the Cue list. When you press Alt, items that have shortcuts will have an underscore (such as "Cue list" and "New").

Yes yes! Of course! I didn't understand that you were talking about a shortcut specific to Windows, not specific to Goldwave!
Thanks.

[ALT+E] doesn't produce any results (error sound). I have reviewed my keyboard with [Alt + letter]: only the combination [alt + X] works (export of cues).

Is it a problem related to the French language, selected as the interface language? (please, note: I use version 6.37, whose French version is quite funny (Quebec translation?)! :D )

Thanks.

If you use a different language, that may change (or remove) the shortcut key, which is actually embedded in the text. You can use the Language editor to add an ampersand in front of the letter you want to use. For example "&Modifier...".

I don't know how to launch the language editor, sorry. When I choose language > Edit (langue > Modifier), I receive an error burst without being able to go any further (version 6.41).

I've returned to the English version (native), and it's the ALT + E control that allows me to modify a cue...

I don't understand what the problem is, but with version 6.41, since I tried to edit the French language file and then returned to the English language, I can't go back to the French language, even if I restart Goldwave.

I completely uninstalled Goldwave, checked that the C:/Program files/Goldwave folder had disappeared, then reinstalled version 6.41: impossible to activate the French language.

In the end, I'm staying with the English language! Especially since the French language, created by an AI, is really too ugly...

Try downloading a fresh copy. There was a correction made to a couple of the language files.

You may have to set the language to English, choose OK, then set it back to French.

Done. But can't change language to french... Sorry.

That happens when returning to English!! French impossible then (French is selected but not effective after restarting).

It is working fine on my computer. Try selecting a different language (not English), then try French again.

Would you be able to give me the link to the installation file containing the correct language files again (or give me a link to download only the corrected language files: I know where to place them if necessary)?

Maybe my download this morning didn't point to the new file....

Thank you.

=== EDIT ===

I was able to change the language to German (after German selected and restarting), but selecting French results in.... English (after restarting)!

Strange!

=== EDIT 2 ===

Possible access to the German language editor....

It is the fr.lang file that seems to be a problem!

Make sure you re-download a fresh copy of GoldWave that contains the corrected language files.
