Safe download and install of LAME

Post by 998cc »

Hello. For some reason, my Goldwave (Registered) blue screens. I had seen popup that said LAME was not found--or similar language. Finding LAME as download has been problematic as it comes piggybacked with spyware/malware.

This is the first time this has happened. Long time Goldwave user.

Thank you. :)

What version of GoldWave? What version of Windows?

If you are running the current version of GoldWave, LAME is included and installed automatically.

On older versions GoldWave would automatically download it from "somewhere" on the Internet, but there is a possibility that it's been moved or deleted from that mysterious location.

If you're running an older version there is some information in the GoldWave FAQ.

RareWares.org is "safe".

If none of this helps there is a web-mail form on this page that you can use to directly contact Chris (GoldWave's developer).

And/or if you can't get it to work you can save-as WAV and then convert to MP3 with Audacity, TAudioConverter, or another converter tool of your choice.
