How to get a file back to its original frequency.

Hi.

Back in the early 2010s, I was using GoldWave to brighten up certain files that had audio where the sound was not as bright as it could have been. For example, sometimes it was hard to tell if certain letters were S or F.

So, I started using the Inverse Riaa Eq Curve feature in the Equalizer setting. At first that seemed to help.

Now, if possible, I would like to get those files back to their original frequencies before I changed the equalization on them. Is there a way to do this?

I have tried using the Riaa Eq Curve feature but that didn't really change the files back to their original frequencies. I also tried the Default setting in the Equalizer setting, and that didn't change it back either. Finally, I looked in the GoldWave Manual under the Equalizer setting. I couldn't find anything that specifically talked about the Inverse Riaa Eq Curve and the Riaa Eq Curve features.

Once again, I would like to change these files back to their original frequencies, before the equalization took place. Is that possible?

Please let me know. Thank you very much.

P.S. I am totally blind and use a screen reader on my computer. I also use the keyboard, not the mouse. So, if there is a way to fix the frequencies on those certain files, I would really appreciate it if you could tell me how to go about it using the keyboard.

There may not be a way to recover the frequencies. When the filter is applied and the file is saved, the reduction in frequencies becomes permanent. For example, if the frequencies at 150Hz are reduced to zero, then no level of boosting will bring those back. They cannot be restored. Using the "RIAA EQ curve" preset may be the best you can do.
