You offer almost no information. I know you're using a mic and a computer, and that's all.

Are you using an interface? Is this the first time you've tried recording to mono in Goldwave? If not, were you successful using earlier versions of the program?

I've recorded to mono on Goldwave many times without issue. I can't imagine what could be affecting your recording, based on what little you've said so far.

I had a similar experience and it turned out to be a conflict with the input sampling rate and the PC. Hit F11 and then devices and try the "record" settings. I have been using "Use device attributes" and "Quality (4400Hz / 2/ 32): maybe try a sample rate of 48000 Hz. The help file is worth a read as well. If you find that this works, you can always use Goldwave to change the sample rate later. Tristan asks if you were using an interface? Good idea to use one, mike inputs on PC's not very good as a rule. Good luck.

How about offering some feedback, man? People took the trouble to offer help.

Thank for your help 2leftfeet! I did not change the quality numbers as I have no clue how to do that, but changing it from 'Shared' to anything else worked.

Tristian. It really doesn't help matters when you make little effort in your replies. I provided a sound recording with my settings and what it sounded like, and you did basically 'TL;DR'. I thought maybe I hadn't provided the right kind of information, so I checked out some of your other replies.
- One person asked about short-cut keys, and you instead posted your Interface resolution, including a link to a mixer.
- Another user asked for help on using the Flanger Effect, and your reply was basically 'Figure it out yourself'.
- Someone asked about combining files and you replied simply "Can't you read?" like an asshat. And this was AFTER Goldwave Inc. had already answered their question, and they replied with a Thank You.
Your signature is even "If I can read the manual, so can you". Then why are you even on the forum with that attitude?

2leftfeet began their response by relating the question to an experience they've already encountered, including the steps they took on their end. My results were't exactly the same but I was sent in the right direction.

When a user asks for help, they are generally expecting some kind of assistance with the topic. A resolution, which may be obvious to you, may not be to them. Telling them you don't know why or would want to do that, doesn't matter as they aren't looking for permission. Please consider adding more detail into your replies, and think about if it'll even help at all.
