I have imported a tone and set up the control display to view its spectrum. I want to center the display on the tonal frequency. I know there's an option for that but I cannot activate that window. I tried right-clicking throughout the control window and that didn't work. Any ideas?

Normally you'd right-click on the visual itself and choose "Properties". Or you can go though Options | Control Properties and choose the Visual tab, then the settings button for the visual.
