Output of multi channel stereo?

Postby cinemadood » Thu Mar 28, 2013 5:31 pm

Just wanted to say the new video editor looks and functions great as a version 1. Not being much of a video editor i can't critique anything. I do have a question as for when support of 5.1 stereo output will be possible? or if lacking this output option is a problem on my end? The preview playback has the audio channels, but the output only has "stereo" as an save option.

(edit)
I just noticed there are 5.1 options when meld'ing to a WMV file type.

Multichannel output is limited to Wave and WMA/WMV formats right now.

Any plans to add this to mp4 output?
Also as a side note, I tried using the multichannel output on version 1.0 a few times, never seemed to work even when outputting as WMV. Worked fine when trying just now in version 1.10.

The MPEG-4 AAC encoder included with Windows doesn't support multichannel audio, so that isn't possible right now.

i even rendered the video to wmv and the 7.1 wav separately through meld and i still get the same error
but it will let me render a 5.1 video or a 7.1 wav but not a 7.1 video

There may be two sets of 7.1 attributes. You'd have to select one having the "A/V" attributes, which are compatible with video files.

There are plans to add panning effects to a future version of VideoMeld, probably a simple left/right balance effect and a multichannel mixer effect.

A panning/mixer effect will be added to a future update.

The plan is to have it in the next update. Currently working on other projects at the moment.
