video dimensions

Post by malonzo47 »

Hi all,

First time using this software so I may be missing something obvious... I add a video that is 590x725. I want to retain this dimension upon output from VideoMeld. It seems like VM has some kind of enforced widescreen aspect ratio, so when I export (or preview) I get a big black box around my original video. How do I specify the output dimensions of my video? It seems like by default they should = the input dimensions, right?

I have played around with the Crop and the Size "effects" to no avail...

Thanks for any advice!

You'll need to use Options | Project Settings to change the aspect ratio of the project. However there isn't an option to make a video that is taller than it is wide.

such an option might be useful. these days there are people taking videos from things like Snapchat where the orientation of the phone determines that the video is taller than wide.
