Video preview window - use of screen real-estate

I'm really enjoying working with the latest version of VideoMeld, however I can't help feeling that the video preview snap-in is not as good as the previous incarnation - it seems to be wasting potentially useful screen real-estate, I much preferred the smaller version in the top right of the screen.

I'm frequently working on a single monitor where it's not possible to pop the window onto a second screen. When popping the window out it's not possible for it to "stay on top" and doesn't appear in the Windows Alt-Tab list when trying to switch back to it.

Is it possible to reconsider the approach to displaying the preview window? Perhaps some of the unused screen space either side of the video preview could be used for some useful controls, effects, or properties functions? Is it possible to implement a "stay on top" function for the pop-out window?

Thanks for your consideration!

I'll look into some options in a future update.
