Hello, I'sm a long time user of Goldwave and Multiquence. I love both programs. Fantastic Job. simple, basic, fast and most of all... works exactly the way i want them to.

All of a sudden, Multiquence can't read MP3 files. when i attempt to add an mp3 file section, i continuously get the error, 'Add Section. Could not open the file: ???.mp3' (??? = filename).

Any thoughts?

Thanks again for two fabulous programs. Multiquence was used to set up my latest Live performance album "Sisk - Live at Ambientlive 2k3 US" and I use Goldwave on a regular basis.

Hope you can help me out.

Something has altered the MPEG audio decoder setup in your system. Search your system for the L3CODECA.ACM file. If that file is not installed, then reinstalling Windows Media Player may correct the problem.

If not, make sure that the MPEG audio decoder is enabled:
  1. Right-click on the speaker icon in the Start bar tray.
  2. Select "Adjust Audio Properties" from the menu.
  3. Choose the Hardware tab.
  4. Select the "Audio Codecs" item in the Devices list.
  5. Choose the Properties button.
  6. Choose the Properties tab.
  7. Select the "Fraunhofer IIS MPEG Layer 3" item. If this item is not present, then a full reinstall of Media Player is required.
  8. Choose the Properties button.
  9. Select the "Use this audio codec" option.
