Post by musicstuff » Mon Nov 26, 2007 12:33 am

I am trying to do some multitracking with a (USB external creative sound blaster ) I record a trak in gold wave then bump it to muliquence and set up a recording track and do my play back and record but when I play back the mix the timeing gos wacky after a mi or so.
Is this a latancy problem?
I have done tons of recording this way with the intower card and it's fine,
I just have a buz sound problem with the monitor play back volume.

It is mostly likely a problem with the sound driver. See if there are any special drivers that need to be installed for the device. Also make sure you have the latest drivers from the manufacturer.

Also try mixing just within GoldWave as explained here.

I had a miserable time trying to track with a USB audio interface.

overwhelming problems with latency, buzz... you name it.

When I switched to the PCI-based M-Audio Delta 1010LT, all my problems went away. I was then able to record 4 tracks simultaneously, in-synch, zero latency. Assuming you already have Multiquence, you can get this up and running for $200 or less. And you can get two of these cards and capture 8 tracks simultaneously, too!

And now I cant even unload my old USB interfaces for half of what I paid for them 6 months ago.
