Hi all,
I have started a new project, and when I go to add video the .avi I load crashes Multiquence. I know that this is a divx avi. When I load an avi not done using divx it loads ok.
Can someone please tell me how I can load the divx avi?
Thanks

Make sure you have the latest
Divx decoder installed and that the file plays in Windows Media player without any trouble.
Also try turning off the
View | Show contents setting in Multiquence.

Thanks for the response.
I do have the latest codec installed. I am able to play these divx files in Win Media Player.
I also did as you suggested and turned off View | Show. They are still crashing.

Are you able to view crash details to see what module or DLL the error occurs in?

I have a similar problem trying to add an mjpeg AVI track to my project: Multiquence crashes when loading the clip. The file plays fine in any player or other editors. The
View | Show Contents option had no effect. I don't know exactly what crash data you need to find out what's wrong but here's something from drwtsn32.log (just ask if you need more, I've cut all but the parts I thought were relevant):

Try installing (or re-installing) the latest version of DirectX. If that does not help, I'd need to see more of the log (the stack back trace) to get a better idea of what might be causing the error.

I had the same problem and I noticed that it occurred with the loading of MJPEG avi files. Now, an earlier version of Multiquence used to accept these avi files - that is before the "great crash" when I re-installed everything. But of course, I forgot to install the particular mjpec codec that I had used to make the avi with. When i installed this codec, the crashing problem disappeared. Hope this helps.

I also have this problem.
I have tried a DivX avi I encoded a few days ago with DrDivX, which plays fine in WMP10. I am (as far as I know) running the latest official DivX codecs and DirectX.
I tried deselecting Show Contents, with no results. Not sure where to get hold of the stack dump as the drwtsn32.log only contains one crash I had last year.

Update:
Works with 2.02, not with 2.52 or 2.53

You'll need to run (Start | Run) drwtsn32.exe for it to capture the error information.
The problem may be caused by DivX files having a zero "time per frame", making it impossible for Multiquence to determine the frame rate of the files.
