Re: Sustain a note
Thanks Doug, but that didn't do it for me. Can't get them to make a nice sustained tone...(I'm an amateur.)

Sustain a note
I want to use a section of a piece of instrumental music. However, the section I want is not at the end, so it does not end like an ending. I would like to chop it off with a certain note, but I would like to sustain that note and then taper it off, so it fades out after a second or two. Is there a ...

Re: Volume vacillates
No, I really can't relate it to anything else. I noticed it a couple hours after installing the new GW. No hardware changes.

Re: Volume vacillates
I don't find anything that I can ID as a possible problem. (See screenshot at link below). Maybe going back to the previous version of GW?

Volume vacillates
I just upgraded to GoldWave 6.52, running Windows 10. Now I find that my volume vacillates between normal and much softer. This happens while playing a sound in GoldWave, but also other times, like when playing a video from the Internet. Any ideas what I can do about this? Very annoying...

Combining files
I have 20 files, each 1 – 5 minutes long. I would like to combine them, one after another, into one long file. I know how to do this manually by pasting one into another repeatedly; but wonder—is there a way to do this all at once?

Cannot convert
I have a .wma file, about an hour long, that I'm trying to save as a .wav file so i can edit without loss of quality. I've done this many times before with other files. But now it converts about half-way; then hangs up for a minute; then converts until it is almost finished; then hangs up again; the...

Eliminate loud sounds
I have an old interview recording that is quite soft. However, when I attempt to maximize volume, it doesn't do much because there are many places where the volume apparently is already near the maximum. Is there a way to compress all of the loud parts in one stroke, so I can then maximize the volum...

Batch processing problem
I'm presently doing a lot of batch processing, converting folders of .wav files to .mp3. Frequently Gold wave crashes after doing one or two operations. Sometimes it continues to crash even after restarting the program. I have tried reinstalling the program. (I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium on a ...

Eliminate loud noises
Does Gold Wave have a way to scan a sound file; find undesired loud noises like loud coughs which are louder than the rest of the recorded conversation; and eliminate those coughs? I know I can use "maximize volume" to identify the location of the loudest part of a recording; then manually...

Batch processing lock up
I'm running the current version of Gold Wave on a Vista machine. Each time I try to set up a batch process to convert a group of files from .wav to .mp3, it ceases responding. Any idea why?
Thanks
Tom

Thanks a million, Doug! You're suggestion worked very well, producing a good-sounding recording of about the same size as the .wma file--much smaller than the .wav files I've made. Would I be correct in assuming that if I am going to do some editing, it might be best to make a .wav file; work w/ tha...
