Re: FreeDB is no more
Note that "freedb.goldwave.ca" can be used as the server in the CD Reader tool options. Thank you! After doing some updates I did not even notice this had changed. "Save Titles" is not in the "Help" however. Did an internet search and found myself back here. Thank you ...

Re: FreeDB is no more
After running around in a few circles, it appears the original CDDB database was aging itself (oh gee, that happens) and was in need of at least backwards compatible updates in the interfacing with new fields in the backend and a newly exposed interface for the new features. And the industry is in a...

Re: FreeDB is no more
Or Discogs. I'm sure there are positives and negatives about the gamut of things. Wasn't the database for freedb open-source in the licensing AND UPKEEP? I smell a suit from someone eventually. Neither MAGIX or Gracenote should have proprietary rights to and OVER the database at least up to a certai...

Re: FreeDB is no more
Also, the open source database cddb.dat is nowhere to be found. That database was supposed to be public and freely available.

Re: FreeDB is no more
I still use GoldWave quite often, even though I have many other audio programs for various purposes. I still find GoldWave has very good usefulness with some features that no other program has. I hope this will be taken care of and updated for a more generic solution. Is MusicBrainz any good? https:...

Re: FreeDB is no more
This url doesn't work either.
Was hoping that GoldWave could encode support for one or more of the freebie or not databases, even if you must log in or sign up to that service.

FreeDB is no more
FreeDB has been shuttered.
I'm currently looking for alternative sites for CD information, but I've come across the fact that formatting is likely different with queries to those databases.
Does GoldWave currently support using any other music database servers?

Possible bug or oversight v5.70
I've noticed that when ripping a series of CD's, where I have files produced that are not to be placed in windows in GoldWave, these transferred files remain locked and inaccessible by other applications until GoldWave (5.70) is closed and then reopened. This happens even when the CD Tool is closed....

Re: Industrial Application Frequency Removal
With a parametric eq set to boost on a narrow range of frequencies, you slowly sweep through the full range and note which sounds seem to be predominant at any given small range of frequencies. You will find overlaps, but your concern is to isolate frequency predominance for items that are producing...

Re: Invalid Image Size
I also am experiencing the same issue. I get this message: Error "Invalid image size" adding icon from module GWVST. Image size is 12x12 (16x16 required). with GoldWave 5.67 I have a dual display system and run at 3200x1200 pixels. The message goes away when I go into setup and disable eff...
