WAV does not have a standard method of storing tags. Period.
Do not expect any tags to transfer when converting from WAV to something else. Anything that does just happens to match what the programs are looking for.

Re: Batch Detect Silence
The round-about way I would do this...if I just wanted to get the job done without any headache...is to compress all the files to FLAC. If the files are truly silent; then the FLAC file will come out to have a very small file size. Quieter files do also tend to have much smaller sizes...but I am far...

Re: What soundcard supports 352800 samples-per-second?
I have no clue what the modern arena for "soundcards" is actually like. So much stuff geared toward playback in the "audiophile" arena has switched over to USB. 352.8khz is somewhat common in a lot of the newer DACS. The SMSL SU-8 sitting here on my desk actually supports up to 7...

Re: Problem merging files that have cues
It's not you. I just tried this with some WAV files and despite the manual saying Retain All Cue Points should keep all the original CUE points in the file....it still only creates a CUE point at the merge.

Re: id3 track field is erased for WAV format
You shouldn't be storing raw audio in WAV format for long-term. Why not? It's lossless, uncompressed, offers cd quality, and can be read by anything easily. I've been doing this for more than 15 years, starting while badly compressed MP3 ruled the dial-in internet... Sure, the metadata thing is a m...

Re: id3 track field is erased for WAV format
I'm unclear how the CD Reader Tool helps ... doesn't that tool read CDs and pull information from an online database? Yes; but it may write the information in to a WAV file in a different way. A useful principle when dealing with data interchange is to be strict when writing and liberal when readin...

Re: Sources for codecs?
On Windows 10, Goldwave 6 supports AAC/m4a "out of the box" by virtue of Media Foundation in Windows. There is no codec to install. For LAME...I seem to recall when I reinstalled Windows on this machine late last year; Goldwave 6 actually downloaded lame_enc.dll for me and copied it to the...

Re: Dragonfly red USB DAC
The Dragonfly Red is a DAC only, it does not contain an ADC. If you are using a separate device to digitize vinyl, as Doug mentioned; you need to configure Windows to "Listen to this device" on your Dragonfly output. In the old days, our sound cards usually contained both a DAC and ADC, al...

Re: Recording vinyl/cassettes and monitoring clipping
When recording vinyl you never want to try to use full scale as things like pops and clicks can cause clipping. Now...one could argue that since there isn't any valuable information in a click that it's no problem if it clips...but you still should avoid clipping at all costs. So I typically shoot f...

Re: Batch Procxessing
About the closest you can maybe get is paste your clipboard segment to a new file, load the NR effect; click use shape; and scroll through the spectrum to find the "loudest" segment and then create a shape envelope to save as a preset. There's no current way I can find to create a reductio...

Re: Music Elements Filter
About the best you could hope for would be something that could identify the song and then pull from a database, filling in the information you want. Software that could detect one type of genre from another without any outside information would require some pretty hefty AI that was "trained&qu...

Download and install for nothing on several PCs ! A username like "HiSpeed" would imply that you probably have high-speed internet...in which case it shouldn't be anything for you to download the program multiple times and install it. It's not like installing ProTools or Audition CC or ev...

Re: How to enable Stereo Mixer in Windows 10 1803 OS 17134.1
Maybe I'm not getting the same updates for my Windows 10...becuase I've heard everyone in the audio and ham radio (as we do a lot of soundcard digital modes) that they're having this problem. I just got a update this morning and my privacy settings haven't changed. Maybe it's 10 Pro vs 10 Home diffe...
