Re: Recording And Unused Channels
UMMM - I just tried that here and the record window came up with two channels showing. I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact thaI I most always select two channel for a new window using "file-new"? BTW. I have never used the instant record option - you've got me thinking now

Re: Recording And Unused Channels
Go to "create new file" (ctrl+n) and the the window which opens will ask you how long you want the file to be, how many channels you require and the sample rate. Click OK. You can save this a preset or ask the program to update your last settings. Easy, yes

Re: the best way to make all my songs louder
I use this method:- open the file, and then choose the compress/expand option and select the "hard limit at -6dB preset. Now then go to "maximise volume" and then apply the "full dynamic range" preset. This will give you a good sound without clipping. Having said this, music...

Re: Pre-sales question: record song snippets from Spotify?
With Goldwave, you can manipulate sounds, like alter the audio level, make changes to the tone, edit out unwanted sections and much more. Spend some time trying out the various tools, but before youu do, make a copy of the audio. Easy to do in Goldwave, just go -"ctrl+c" and then "ctr...

Re: Pre-sales question: record song snippets from Spotify?
You do not need to purchase Videomeld for what you wish to do, Goldwave is more than enough for your purposes. Just make sure that you do not record at a too high level, If you make the record level about 30% (or whatever) of maximum and when you have selected your snippet, use the "maximise vo...

Re: Deleting blank spaces between clips?
If all your video clips are in one track, highlight all the clips (ctrl+A). Go to the "EDIT" drop down tab and select "SPACE EQUALLY" from the drop down list. This will open a small window. You will see that you can enter a number in the "TIME BETWEEN SECTIONS" box in t...

Re: Level Activated recording question
Just remembered - I did have to reduce the mike gain on the laptop right down to nearly nothing as dog barking can be quite loud! The garage door mecahnism did not activate the recording, but only the dog barks did. I used the level activated timestamp recording once before when I wanted to record s...

Re: Level Activated recording question
I have used this function to check on whether or not our dogs were barking when we were out. I opened a new sound file of two hours duration and then in the "Control Properties" Record window, checked the "Level activated box" and set the "Threshold level" to -20 db or ...

Re: "Ken Burns" Effect
Know exactly what you are talking about - I tried to do that recently but could not work out how to do it because the effects window is not very easy to get your head round it all. I know you can because I did it once a long time ago :( There is other software out there which will work, but you must...

Re: Crop Video
Best way to crop your images would be to crop them in Photoshop or whatever image editor you use. You will have to do each one individually to achieve best results. In Photoshop, set the crop size to a ratio of 4:3 and crop each image so as to give the best results. I have used this method to do the...

Re: Help window background colour
Does not look like that on my PC either, (Win 10) but I have had this happen with other apps but cannot remember what they were now. How about removing Goldwave and then re-installing. (By the way, I installed it in "program files", Not program filesx86). Probably a PC issue, I think. Good...

Program termination update
After producing several new projects using the same music files with no sign of "abnormal program termination" windows appearing, I returned to the earlier project which I had trouble with and YES! The dreaded "program termination" window appeared again  The only difference...

Re: Program termination
This has been happening intermittently with one project which contains 32 text items in one track and 40 short audio tracks in the other. Total project length is 90 minutes approx. It doen not have any effect on the project which retains any changes I have made to it.

Program termination
Sometimes "abnormal termination" warning comes up when exiting Videomeld. Not every time, but on my desktop (Win 10) & laptop (Win 7)machines. It happens intermittently after saving and then clicking on the "X" icon, top right.

Re: Speed up audio
First, make a copy of the audio and work with the copy so that you do not lose the original if you go wrong. Now go to the "Effects" tab and scroll down to "Time" (the clock icon). Click on this and when the "Time" window opens, select the length option and enter the ne...
