Re: cannot get batch processing to work
You are right! Batch processing works if you use single command line without a batch file, it does NOT work when you use a batch file which includes single command line(Not to mention multiple command lines). The error message is No files found. I believe there is a bug somewhere. Chris probably has...

Re: cannot get batch processing to work
It seems to me that you chose to do a simple task in a hard way. Here is a short cut: 1. Create a folder called, say, batchin. Place all your files in batchin. 2. In your menu bar, under "File" menu, select "Batch Processing..." submenu. The default tab is already "Convert&q...

Re: Filtering my voice and the one of the person talking wit
The voiced speech of a typical adult male will have a fundamental frequency from 85 to 180 Hz, and that of a typical adult female from 165 to 255 Hz. In telephony, the usable voice frequency band ranges from approximately 300 Hz to 3400 Hz. Thus, even though the fundamental frequency of most speech ...

Re: No "Volume Device"
In order to use SP3, you also need at least one of SP1 or SP2(Microsoft Bureaucracy! I thought SP3 is self-contained, but it is NOT!). I downloaded SP3 only to find out I also need to download SP1 or SP2 before I can install SP3. So instead of 12 hours, you may find yourself spend 24 hours or longer...

When virtual machine meets real machine...
In my previous post , I said,"As Gord pointed out, I am not sure you can record "real" music from a "virtual" machine." Well, I did just that. I recorded while playing Carpenter's hit song, "Sing a Song" using GoldWave in a virtual machine (Microsoft Virtual P...

Open Device Manager, under System devices, there is an item called audio controller. Make sure you have the driver for this audio controller(No yellow question mark)!

Re: Removing "wow"
This is exactly where GoldWave can help. If you know the precise frequency of the "wow", you can apply a notch filter to remove it. If you are not sure about the frequency contents of the "wow", you can study its contents by using Short Time Fourier Transform(STFT) where the STFT...

Re: How to reuse your software/hardware when you upgrade!
Dude, double booting, let alone triple of quad booting, is NOT something the average user should undertake. it requires a good knowledge of how partitions work, along with how bootloaders and whatelse work. the people that know how to do this sort of thing obviously already know when and how it sho...

How to reuse your software/hardware when you upgrade!
All manufacturers updates their products often. That's how they make money. They always encourage people to upgrade. The theme is if you don't, your sytem will be obsolete. Most people buy their arguments and believe when they upgrade their computer, they also need to upgrade their existing hardware...

Re: recording
Seeray said after recording there is slipping and sometimes distoring. Is there something I can do prevent this to happen It depends. If you are recording a live event, you don't have the luxury to rerecord. You may wish to record using 2 or more devices. You can use something like Easy Hi-Q recorde...

Re: USB digital input
Sometimes, when you upgrade your operating system, you have to upgrade your hardware too. (I just bought a laptop with Win7, and I have to get a new printer because there are no Win7 drivers for my old printer.) That's just one way to do it. You don't have to buy a new hardware just because you upg...
