Hide playback marker option (6.09)

Does this do anything for anyone? I can check it or uncheck it and it's exactly the same, the playback marker ALWAYS appears.

Re: Frequency analyzer over 22khz

All I can say is download the file yourself and have a look. It looks right to me, no weird stuff going on.

Re: Sorry to be a bug - 6.06

I also found a minor bug in 6.06 that's left over from 6.05 and I assume earlier versions of 6. On my computer (Win7 Pro 64 bit) after I change the theme I can no longer drag and drop a file in GoldWave to open it. If I close GW and relaunch it then everything is fine again. This only happens after ...

Re: Frequency analyzer over 22khz

The spectrum visual allows you to see very high frequency information. I have it set to automatically adjust the highest frequency depending on the file. I have a lot of HDtracks and SACD files and it's kind of cool to see how much info there is on some recordings past 20 kHz. The one that surprised...

Re: No Flac in GW 6.0 beta?

I read on another thread that some of the 64 bit support isn't completely functional yet, FLAC is one of those things.

Re: Bit rate questions ...

No problem! In blind testing, nobody can tell the difference between 44.1kHz, 16-bit and anything "better". In fact, with most program material, most people can't hear the difference in a high-quality MP3 and the uncompressed original! (The audiophiles who can't believe this always seem t...

Any way to change the colors of the X-Y graph and spectrum?

Is there any way to change the colors of the X-Y graph and spectrum? I've never been able to find anywhere to change these colors. I'd like to change the color of my X-Y graph to a shade of blue (like the old 'scopes on Marantz equipment) and maybe use yellow or something else for the Spectrum side.

Nice deck. :) I've got an Otari MX5050BII but right now it's just sitting and collecting dust. Great deck, sounds great and built like a tank.

I've got that too. I've got an Otari MX5050BII but good tape is so damn expensive anymore it's ridiculous. :(

are you 100% sure your SACD player doesn't already convert to PCM? Absolutely positive. It's a Denon dvd-2910 and it does not convert DSD to PCM. I'm aware of the so-called controversey about DSD but when mastering engineers like Tom Jung of DMP, Steve Hoffman, Doug Sax and several others say that ...

But, don't think Afterimage was necessarily trying to improve the sound... Apparently he (she?) was just playing around... errr... experimenting... He didn't expect to see/hear any difference and was surprised at the results. I was surprised too! Right, I (he) was just messing around. There'...

I just ripped another track as redbook 44.1 khz/16 bit wav and then resampled it to 88.2 khz/16 bit and also to 176.4 khz/16 bit wav files. The 88.2 khz/16 bit wav file clearly shows audio information up to around 32 khz but the 176.4/16 bit wav file shows audio only up to 22 khz, exactly as it shou...

High frequencies being added when using resampling

I just noticed something very strange that Goldwave (version 5.25) is doing to the audio when using the resampling feature. I used the CD Reader function to rip the audio of one of my favorite audiophile cd's, James Newton Howard & Friends on Sheffield Lab label. I extracted the audio as normal ...

The only thing I think of when I see Real is "buffering." 5 years ago when I was walking around downtown Seattle I walked past the Real building and as soon as I saw the Real sign "buffering" was the first thing that popped into my head.
